Grand Meadow Superlarks girls basketball team scores 59-56 win over Spring Grove

The two leaders in the Southeast Conference in girls basketball squared off in Grand Meadow Friday evening as the West Division-leading Superlarks hosted the East Division leading Spring Grove Lions, and it was Lauren Queensland leading three Superlarks in double figures in scoring with 22 points as the ‘Larks knocked off the Lions 59-56.

Spring Grove led 34-32 at the half, and while the Lions tallied seven three pointers to five for Grand Meadow, the Superlarks were 10 for 14 from the free throw line, while the Lions were only 3 for 3.  Besides Queensland’s 22 points, Lexy Foster posted a double-double of 14 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, Gracie Foster drained a pair of 3’s on her way to 14 points, Rylee Schaufler scored four points, Aspen Kolling swished a 3-pointer for three points, and Kendall Jack tallied two points in the win.

The win for Grand Meadow, their fourth in a row and sixth in their last seven games brings their record to 17-8 overall on the season and 11-4 in the Southeast Conference, and the Superlarks will wind up the regular season with a conference game in LeRoy Monday evening versus the LeRoy/Ostrander Cardinals, with tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
