Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team downs W-E-M 53-48 for 3-0 start
The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team played their first game in their new gym Tuesday night versus Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in the Gopher Conference, and the Blossoms are now 3-0 under new Head Coach John Worke as they battled their way to a 53-48 victory.
The Blossoms led 32-20 at the half on their way to the win, and they were 16 for 26 from the free-throw line, whle W-E-M was 15 for 30. Each team tallied three 3-pointers, and three Blossoms were in double figures, led by Shawntee Snyder, who swished one of BP’s 3-pointers on her way to 15 points. Macy Lembke and Claire Schwarz also each hit a 3-pointer in scoring 13 points apiece, Addison Doocy tallied eight points, and Catelyn Bartlett scored four points in the win. W-E-M’s Alayna Atherton led all scorers in the game with 19 points.
With the win, the Blossoms are 2-0 in the Gopher Conference and 3-0 overall, and they are back in action in Grand Meadow Thursday night versus a strong Superlark squad, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m. that evening.
