Austin Packers girls golf team shoots record score in Big 9 Conference triangular win

The Austin Packers girls golf team played their first home meet of the 2024 season at the Austin Country Club Tuesday as they played host to Rochester John Marshall and Faribault in a Big 9 Conference triangular, and it was the Packers breaking the program record for lowest score shot by a team with a total of 339, 24 strokes clear of the second-place Rockets at 363, and Faribault was third with a score of 376.

Freshman Ailani Thiravong fired the low score for the Packers Tuesday with a 77, fellow freshman Sydney Lewis carded an 83, junior Izzy Sellers tallied a round of 86, freshman Lucy Annis carded a round of 93, freshman Gracie Greenman finished the day with a 98, and freshman Regan Harty carded a 99.

The Packers are right back into action today (Wednesday) as they travel to The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City for an 11-team invitational, as also in action will be the host Tigers, Byron, Winona, Stillwater, Rochester Mayo, Northfield, Holy Family/Waconia, East Ridge, Rochester John Marshall, Red Wing and Lakeville South, with the teams scheduled to tee off at 2:00 p.m.
