Austin Packers boys golf team competes in Big 9 Conference triangular in Rochester Tuesday

The Austin Packers boys golf team traveled to Northern Hills Golf Course in Rochester Tuesday for a Big 9 Conference triangular with the John Marshall Rockets and the Faribault Falcons, and in a team competition that saw the three squads separated by only three strokes, it was the Falcons taking first place with a total of 331, followed by the Rockets in second with a team total of 332, and the Packers in third with a score of 334.

Sophomore Elijah Krueger carded the low score of the day for the Packers as he finished with a round of 77, both junior Carter Hovelsrud and sophomore Isaac Anderson shot rounds of 85, senior Owen O’Rourke finished his day with a score of 87, junior Cale Tupy came in with an 89, and senior Colin Berg carded a round of 90 for the day.

The Packers will be back in action Thursday in Northfield, as the Raiders will host an 11-team invitational including Austin, Bloomington Jefferson, Bloomington Kennedy, Lakeville North, Owatonna, Rochester Century, Rochester John Marshall, Rochester Mayo, St. Peter and Winona, with the teams scheduled to tee off at 2 p.m. that afternoon.
