Austin Packers golf teams compete at Hayfield Invitational Saturday
The Austin Packers boys and girls golf teams saw warm, sunny weather but high winds Saturday as they and 12 other teams competed at the Hayfield Invitational at The Oaks Golf Club, and both teams took second overall in their respective divisions, with the boys shooting a team total of 335, and the girls a total of 410.
Cale Tupy carded the low score for the boys with a round of 79, Elijah Krueger finished with an 80, Isaac Anderson fired a round of 87, Owen O’Rourke finished with an 89, Carter Hovlesrud carded a round of 91, and Collin Berg shot a 95. For the girls, freshman Ailani Thiravong finished as top medalist at the event for the third year in a row with a round of 84, Sydney Lewis carded a round of 104, both Izzy Sellers and Lucy Annis fired rounds of 111, Reagan Harty shot a round of 113, and Gracie Greenman finished her day with a round of 120.
Both teams will be back in action versus Red Wing Monday, with the girls scheduled to travel to Mississippi National Golf Links for a 2:30 tee-off time, and the boys will host the Wingers at the Austin Country Club, also at 2:30 p.m.
