Austin Packers girls basketball team rolls by Albert Lea 73-21 Tuesday evening

The Austin Packers girls basketball team was looking to snap a three-game losing streak in Albert Lea versus the Tigers in a Big 9 Conference matchup of the two I-90 rivals, and junior guard Ajiem Agwa led three Packers in double figures in scoring with 28 points as the Packers led 44-10 at the half on their way to a 73-21 victory.

Besides Agwa’s game-high 28 points, Quinn Osgood and Atee Obang both tallied 11 points apiece, Addison Walsh scored nine points, Marissa Shute tallied five points, Mackenzie Brede and Gracie Arndt each totaled three points, Reagan Harty tallied two points, and Ashley Reyes Garcia scored one point in the lopsided win.

With the win, Austin is now 1-3 in the Big 9 Conference, and 2-4 overall on the season, and the Packers return home to play the Owatonna Huskies in the Big 9 Conference Friday evening, and you’ll hear the game live from Ove Berven Gym on AM 1480 KAUS, with the pre-game show getting underway at 7:15 p.m., and tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
