Austin Packers boys golf team hosts Big 9 Conference triangular Monday

The Austin Packers boys golf team played host to Owatonna and Albert Lea in their last regular-season home meet for the 2024 season at the Austin Country Club Monday, and in the Big 9 Conference triangular, it was the Huskies taking the team competition with a score of 315, 20 strokes better than the second-place Packers with 335, and Albert Lea was third with a team score of 369.

Sophomore Elijah Krueger carded the low round for the Packers Monday with a 78, fellow sophomore Isaac Anderson finished with a round of 81, junior Cale Tupy fired an 86, senior Izaac Erickson carded a round of 90, junior Carter Hovlesrud finished his day with a 91, and senior Owen O’Rourke finished with a round of 97.

Austin will return to action in a 12-team invitational at Eastwood Golf Course in Rochester Wednesday alongside Rochester Century, Albert Lea, Faribault, Hudson, Wisconsin, Lakeville North, Northfield, Owatonna, River Falls, Wisconsin, Rochester Mayo, Rochester Lourdes and Rochester John Marshall, with the teams scheduled to tee off at 11:00 a.m.
