Austin man sentenced to prison time on felony drug sale charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who was taken into custody after approximately 1,113 grams, or 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine were discovered after the execution of a search warrant at a residence at 511 4th St. NW in Austin on January 18th, 2024 has been sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court.

40-year-old Patrick John Dion was convicted and sentenced Thursday to 100 months, or eight years and three months in prison for a felony charge of 1st degree drugs, possession of 100 or more grams of cocaine or methamphetamine.  Dion pleaded guilty to the charge on Thursday, and a felony charge for 1st degree drugs, aggravated controlled substance crime and two aggravating factors, plus a felony charge for 1st degree drugs, sale of 17 grams or more of cocaine or methamphetamine within a 90-day period stemming from a drug sale that took place in Austin on April 25th, 2022 against Dion in the case were both dismissed with his guilty plea.
