Three people injured in one-vehicle accident on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County Friday afternoon

Three people were injured in a one-vehicle, rollover-type accident on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County Friday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2016 Nissan Rouge being driven by 21-year old Marilena Christine Nugent of Chanhassen was traveling northbound on Interstate 35 at approximately 3:24 p.m. Friday afternoon when she lost control of the vehicle, which then rolled over at milepost 19 in Bath Township.

Nugent and two passengers in her vehicle, 21-year old Nicole Cox and 21-year old Brianna Alexandria Curry all sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident,and all three were transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea for treatment.  

The State Patrol indicated that all three parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Departments from Clarks Grove and Albert Lea, plus Mayo Ambulance all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Friday afternoon.
