Austin Packers boys basketball team falls to Rochester Century 79-53 Tuesday evening
The Austin Packers boys basketball team faced a tough test at Packer Gym Tuesday evening as they played host to the Rochester Century Panthers, the second-place team in the Big 9 Conference behind only Mankato East, and it was the Panthers winning by a score of 79-53.
The Panthers led by 11 at the half at 34-23, and the Packers were led in scoring by sophomore guard J’dan Stevens, who swished three of Austin’s 11 3-pointers in the game for 13 points, Peyton Ransom was also in double figures with 10 points, Isaac Osgood and Mikah Christopherson each tallied nine points, with Christopherson nailing three 3-pointers and also pulling in six rebounds, and Dakota Retterath and Banyaan Omot each scored three points.
With the loss, the Packers are now 4-6 in the Big 9 Conference and 5-10 overall on the season, and Austin is back in action at home Friday night versus the Rochester John Marshall Rockets, with the Big 9 tilt set to start at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
