Ethan Dennis tallied four goals and two assists, Ryan Dripps added two goals and two assists, Mark Olson scored a pair of goals and eight different Rochester Mayo Spartans scored overall Saturday as Mayo scored four goals in the first period, six in the second and four more in the third to blank the Austin Packers 14-0 in the season opener for the Packers at Riverside Arena.

Mayo peppered the Austin net with 60 shots in the game to just eight for the Packers, and Spartan goaltender Tate Cothern stopped all eight shots for the shutout win.  Ethan Knox got the start between the pipes for Austin and made 24 saves in facing 31 shots in the first 25 minutes of the game.  Bray Klapperick played the final 25 minutes and made 22 saves in facing 29 shots.  Each team was penalized only once for two minutes.

Austin opens up with an 0-1 record, and they are back on the ice in Mankato Thursday night versus the West Scarlets, with the varsity face-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
