The Hayfield Vikings girls’ basketball team played host to Gopher Conference rival Maple River Monday evening, as the Vikings are scheduled to play three of their first four games at home.  Against the Eagles, Hayfield had three players in double figures, led by Kristen Watson’s 20 points as the Vikings routed the Eagles 60-39.

Besides Watson’s 20 points, Natalie Beaver tallied 16 points and Aine Stasko added 14 points, and the two combined to swish three of Hayfield’s four 3-pointers in the game.

With the win, the Vikings are out to a 2-0 start, and they return to action Friday evening in Faribault against Bethlehem Academy.

In Grand Meadow, the Superlarks were in Southeast Conference action against the Kingsland Knights, and the Knights led 27-12 at the half on their way to a 45-30 win.
