Two Oklahoma men were killed and two other men from Missouri suffered non-life threatening injuries after a one-vehicle accident early Thursday morning on Interstate 90 in eastern Mower County.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a Dodge Ram pickup being driven by 45-year old Antonio Padillabarra of Tulsa, Oklahoma was traveling westbound on I-90 approximately two miles west of Stewartville at 7:06 a.m. Thursday morning when the vehicle went out of control, rolled through the center median and ended up in the eastbound lane.  

The State Patrol reported that Padillabarra and a backseat passenger, 18-year old Eduardo Padilla of Tulsa, Oklahoma were ejected from the vehicle and were killed. Neither person was wearing a seatbelt.  Two other passengers in the vehicle who, according to the State Patrol were wearing their seatbelts, 39-year old Jose Ivan Lagunarojas and 18-year old Jordan Ochoafernandez, both of Columbia, Missouri were transported to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for non-life threatening injuries.  The eastbound lanes of I-90 were closed for several hours Thursday morning from Dexter to Rochester because of the accident.  

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Sheriff’s Offices from Mower and Olmsted Counties, Grand Meadow Ambulance and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service at the accident scene.
