Overby Orthodontics Prep Athlete of the Week named!

Congratulations to this week’s KAUS Overby Orthodontics prep Athlete of the Week, Ajiem Agwa of the Austin Packers girls basketball team!

Agwa, a junior guard, has taken her game to a whole new level as of late as in a recent matchup with Big 9 Conference leader Rochester Mayo, Agwa became the first female basketball player in school history to score 40 or more points in a game with a 40 point, eight rebound, two assist and two steal performance.  The 40 points for Agwa broke the old scoring mark of 37 points set by Theresa Lang in 1993, and last Saturday in a game in Mankato versus the West Scarlets, Agwa broke her own record and then some, as she totaled 51 points, five rebounds, three assists and eight steals in an 85-60 Austin win.  Just for good measure, Agwa led the Packers with 26 points in a 54-48 win over Red Wing at Ove Berven Gym Tuesday evening for a staggering total of 117 points in a three-game span.
