Mower County to continue discussions regarding a revision to the county’s subsurface sewage treatment ordinance
The Mower County Board of Commissioners have been continuing discussions recently regarding a revision to the county’s subsurface sewage treatment ordinance concerning improved compliance with septic system inspections. The ordinance itself was first approved in January of 2021, and KAUS News spoke with Val Sheedy, the Assistant Public Works Director for Mower County who was looking to dispel a rumor circulating about the revision that would involve landowners needing to install a mound system on their property if a grain bin is constructed….
Sheedy went on to correct misinformation circulating amongst county landowners concerning the requirement, in certain cases, to install a mound septic system on their property…
Sheedy stated that there will be a public hearing process moving forward on whatever course of action the board decides to take concerning the issue…
Sheedy went on to state that if anyone has any questions concerning their septic system, they are urged to call the Mower County Public Works Department at (507) 437-7718, and you can also find more information on Mower County’s website at co.mower.mn.us.
