Moose Lake man sentenced to prison time on felony DWI charge in Mower County District Court

A Moose Lake man who pleaded guilty to a felony DWI charge in Mower County District Court after a traffic stop in Austin on June 21st, 2019 has been sentenced to prison time.

In an amended court decision, 36-year old Duane Erle Calhoun was sentenced Thursday to three years and six months, or 42 months in prison for a felony charge of 1st degree DWI, refuse to submit to a breath test.  Calhoun first pleaded guilty to the charge on July 23rd, 2021, and he was convicted on October 28th of that year.

A felony charge of 1st degree DWI, under the influence of alcohol, and a gross misdemeanor charge for driving after cancellation, inimical to public safety in the case against Calhoun were dismissed with his guilty plea.
