Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball rolls by Mabel-Canton 89-34 Tuesday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team was back in action at home in Lyle Tuesday evening versus the Mabel-Canton Cougars in a Southeast Conference showdown, and senior guard Buay Koak led four Athletics in double figures with 35 points, plus he added 10 rebounds, one assist and two blocked shots as the Athletics steamrolled their way to an 89-34 win.

Lyle/Pacelli led the entire way Tuesday night with the exception of a 5-5 tie in the early going, but the Athletics responded with an 8-0 run to take a lead they would not relinquish, and they led 51-22 at the halftime break.  Besides Koak’s big game, which included five of LP’s 13 3-point field goals in the game, senior guard Jake Truckenmiller tallied 14 points, including four 3-pointers, plus he added three rebounds, five asissts, three steals and a blocked shot, Landon Meyer added 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot, senior guard Trey Anderson also scored 10 points, plus he added a team-high 13 rebounds for a double-double and two steals, senior forward Hunter Bauer chipped in six points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocked shots, senior forward Mac Nelson tallied seven points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals, sophomore forward Dylan Christianson chipped in four points, senior center Othello Stone scored two points, and senior forward David Christianson added one point in the win.

With the win, Lyle/Pacelli is out to a 2-0 start, and the Athletics will hit the road for the first time this season for their next game Friday night in Houston versus the Hurricanes, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
