Four people injured in two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 14 in Dodge County Friday morning

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident involving a semi and a car on U.S. Highway 14 in Dodge County Friday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2016 Freightliner semi with a trailer being driven by 51-year old David Neal Morris of Macon, Georgia was eastbound on Highway 14 at approximately 8:43 a.m. Friday morning, while a 2002 Lexus ES being driven by 27-year old Arlexxus Malik Ellerbe of Hayfield was northbound on Dodge County Road 9.  The State Patrol indicated that Ellerbe’s vehicle then made a right-hand turn onto eastbound Highway 14, where his vehicle collided with the semi being driven by Morris.

Four passengers in Ellerbe’s vehicle, 29-year old Geniva Christine Alers of Austin, and 6-year old Alliana Ellerbe, 2-year old Janiya Ellerbe and 8-year old Zahmarley Ellerbe, all of Hayfield all sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident, and they were all transported to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment, while Morris, Arlexxus Ellerbe and 3-year old Neveah Ellerbe of Hayfield were all uninjured.

The State Patrol reported that all parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Dodge Center Ambulance, and the Kasson Fire Department all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Friday morning.
