The final poll for high school football in Minnesota for 2020 has been released by the AP, and several teams from our KAUS listening area and southeastern Minnesota were included in the rankings.

In Class 9-man, the Grand Meadow Superlarks, who finished with a record of 6-1 were ranked fifth in the final poll in a tie with Lanesboro, who defeated the Larks 16-12 in the Section 1 title game.  LeRoy/Ostrander, who won the 3rd place game in the section playoffs received one vote for state ranking in the final poll.

In Class A, the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms, state champions in 2019 and Section 1 champions for the third year in a row were ranked No. 1 in the final poll with a record of 5-0.  In Class AA, Caledonia, who only played three games this season due to COVID-19 was ranked No. 1 in the final poll, as they will carry a 71-game winning streak into next season.  Chatfield, one of the teams the Warriors defeated in their brief season wound up ranked sixth in the final Class AA poll.

In Class AAA, Waseca was ranked No. 5 in the final poll with a record of 6-1, Rochester Lourdes wound up ninth in the final poll with a record of 4-1 and Plainview/Elgin/Millville received one vote for state ranking in the final poll.  In Class AAAA, Kasson/Mantorville was ranked sixth in the final AP poll with a record of 5-1 and in Class AAAAA, Mankato West from the Big Southeast District was ranked third in the final poll with a record of 6-0.  Two other Big Southeast District teams, Owatonna and Rochester Mayo also received votes for state ranking in the final poll.
