Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team downs Medford 52-34 Tuesday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team was looking to get back on the winning track at home Tuesday night versus Medford in the Gopher Conference, and it was the Blossoms pulling away in the second half to down the Tigers, 52-34.

Blooming Prairie battled their way through a tough first half to lead 19-13 at the halftime break, but in the second half, Head Coach John Worke stated that the Blossoms started securing some defensive rebounds and shots started falling to help key the win going away.  Addison Doocy led the Blossoms in scoring Tuesday night with 13 points, Claire Schwarz, Sienna Fyksen and Ella Smith all tallied eight points apiece, Macy Lembke drained two of BP’s four 3-pointers for six points, Ella Salinas totaled four points, Catelyn Bartlett tallied three points,and Hailey Schumacher scored two points in the win.

With the win, the Blossoms are now 3-0 in Gopher Confernence’s East Division, good for first place, and they are 4-1 overall on the season.  The Blossoms return to action Friday evening at conference foe Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m. that evening.
