Austin woman sentenced to supervised probation on felony drug possession charge in Mower County District Court
An Austin woman facing a felony drug possession charge in Mower County District Court stemming from an incident that took place on January 26th has been sentenced to supervised probation and jail time.
43-year old Patricia Jean Mungia was convicted and sentenced Thursday to five years of supervised probation and 39 days in jail for a felony charge of 3rd degree drugs, possession of 10 grams or more of methamphetamine. Mungia was given credit for 39 days already served, and she was granted a stay of imposition in the case where the defendant pleads guilty to a felony-level offense. If he or she successfully completes their probation, the conviction will be deemed a misdemeanor.
Mungia pleaded guilty to the charge in April, and felony charge for storing methamphetamine in the presence of a child in the case was dismissed with Mungia’s guilty plea.
