Austin Police investigating Wednesday evening vehicle theft

Austin Police are investigating after a vehicle was reported stolen from an open garage in northwest Austin Wednesday evening.  

Chief of Police Dave McKichan reported that a silver 2000 Mazda 626 with Minnesota license plate 285NVM was reported stolen at approximately 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening from a garage in the 600 block of 10th Avenue Northwest. The vehicle is described as having a crumpled hood and black rims with the rear windows and driver side window missing.

The owner stated to officers that he was unsure as to how the vehicle was stolen. There are no suspects in the theft at this time.  If you have any information concerning the case, you can call Austin Police at 437-9400. Callers, as a reminder can remain anonymous.
