Austin Packers baseball downs Owatonna in Big 9 baseball Wednesday 7-2
The Austin Packers baseball team was looking to get back on the winning track at Dick Seltz Field Wednesday versus the Owatonna Huskies in a Big 9 Conference matchup that had been postponed from earlier in the season, and Sam Oelfke threw a complete game, and the Packers took the lead early and never relinquished it on their way to a 7-2 win.
R.J. Wieseler helped to lead the way offensively for Austin by going 2 for 3 with a double, two RBI’s, a run scored and a stolen base, Nic Robertson was 2 for 4 as well with a double and two runs knocked in, Peyton Ransom was a perfect 1 for 1 for the Packers with a double, two RBI’s and a run scored, Jared Lillemon was 1 for 3 with a double and a run knocked in, Dakota Retterath went 1 for 3 with a stolen base and Kody Blom was also 1 for 3 with a run scored.
Oelfke was strong on the mound for Austin as he pitched a complete game and gave up the two Owatonna runs, one earned on five hits, striking out six and walking two.
