Overby Orthdontics Prep Athlete of the Week named!
Congratulations to this week’s KAUS Overby Orthodontics Prep Athlete of the Week, Peyton Ransom of the Austin Packers baseball team!
Ransom, a senior for the Packers helped to lead the way for the squad this week with his bat and on the pitching mound, as in a game at Dick Seltz Field versus Northfield Tuesday, Ransom went 2 for 4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored, and in a doubleheader Thursday in Faribault, Ransom started Game 1 on the mound and picked up his team-leading fifth win in his sixth start of the season as he gave up only one run and two hits in six innings of work, plus he struck out six Falcon hitters, and he helped his own cause at the plate in a big way as he went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles, four RBI’s and a run scored in a 14-2 Packer win. In Game 2, Ransom belted out two hits in four trips to the plate and stole two bases to help the squad to a 4-0 shutout win and a sweep of the twin bill.
