Austin man sentenced on felony burglary charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who was first convicted on a felony burglary charge in Mower County District Court in April of 2016 has been sentenced to jail time, supervised probation and time in the sentence to service program.

24-year old Jordan Jeremiah Barclay was sentenced to two days in jail, six years of supervised probation and 60 days in the sentence to service program for a felony charge of 3rd degree burglary, stealing to commit a felony or gross misdemeanor.  Barclay was granted a stay of imposition in the case where the defendant pleads guilty to a felony-level offense.  If he or she successfully completes their probation, the conviction will be deemed a misdemeanor.  Barclay was also given credit for two days already served.

Barclay first pleaded guilty to the charge on April 14th, 2016, and he was convicted the same day.  A gross misdemeanor charge of theft, taking, using or transferring movable property without consent in the case was dismissed with Barclay’s guilty plea.
