The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team took on Faribault in a virtual Big 9 Conference dual meeting Thursday evening at Bud Higgins Pool, and it was the Packers earning a 98-79 win.

Austin’s 200 medley relay team of Madelynn Murley, Molly Sheehan, Molly Garry and Mackenzie Carter helped the Packers to a win by taking first with a time of 2:03.51, and the team of Anna Kossman, Sydney Tobak, Ingrid Dolan Peterson and Alviia Henry was third with a time of 2:18.76.  Murley was second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:14.32 and teammate Lucy Lagervall was third with a finishing time of 2:22.45.  Sheehan was first for Austin in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:28.43, Garry was first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.78 and Austin also helped themseleves to a win by sweeping the top three spots in the diving competition.  Rachel Engelstad was first for the Packers with a totoal of 161.11, Made Tuttle was second with a final score of 158.26 and Reese Norton was third with a score of 154.05.

Sydney Tobak was second for Austin in the 100 butterfly Thursday night with a final time of 1:14.89, Molly Garry was first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.87, Mackenzie Carter was second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:30.28 and teammate Lucy Lagervall was third with a time of 6:47.88.  Austin’s 200 freestyle relay team of Molly Sheehan, Madelynn Murley, Sydney Tobak and Molly Garry was first with a final time of 1:50.60, Murley took second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.43 and Sheehan was first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.95.  Austin’s 400 freestyle relay team of Ingrid Dolan Peterson, Mackenzie Carter, Claire Lagervall and Emma Keenan was second with a time of 4:38.94, and the team of Lucy Lagervall, Kaylee Butts, Ellen Ekins and Alivia Hentry was third with a final time of 4:49.23.

Austin is back in action against Rochester Mayo at 6 p.m. Tuesday and the Packers will then compete in the virtual Big Nine meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 17. After the conference meet, the Packers will be one of the host sites for the Section 1A meet this year.
