Tony Ciola pitched five strong innings for the Austin 18U baseball team Monday night in Red Wing as he struck out 12 and gave up only three hits to help lead his club to a 7-1 win.

Ciola helped his own cause at the plate by going 2 for 4 with a RBI and a run scored, Tanner Murphy led the Austin offense with three hits in four trips to the plate with a RBI and a run scored, and Jackson Oelfke was 2 for 3 with two runs knocked in and a run scored.  Zach Bollingberg also scored two runs in the game.

The one run Ciola gave up in his five innings of work was earned, and Cole Walter came in for the bottom of the 6th and pitched two scoreless innings of relief for Austin, who is out to a 3-0 start overall, and they are 3-0 in the Southern Minny League.
