35th Annual Austin High School Athletic Hall of Fame weekend to be held Friday and Saturday

The 35th Annual Austin High School Athletic Hall of Fame weekend will be held this Friday and Saturday, with five former student athletes and a coach to be inducted.  KAUS spoke with Dr. Joel Schiek, DDS from the Austin High School Class of 1973 and an inductee this year who talked about the festivities that will be taking place Friday and Saturday…

Schiek went on to state that several of the inductees starred in more than one sport, and he added that Austin High School athletics have played a big role in their lives….

Other inductees include Karen Magee, Class of 1981, Trent Fluegel, Class of 1982, Lisa Bue Krumweide, Class of 2004, Marcus Ball, Class of 2005 and Bill Kinney, who coached the Austin/Pacelli wrestling team for 19 seasons from 1994-2013.  A reminder that nomination forms for future inductees are available at the Austin High School Activities Director’s office, and they can also be downloaded from from the Austin Schools website at www.austin.k12.mn.us.
