Two people injured in rural Mower County auto accident

Two people were injured when a dump truck collided with a pickup in rural Mower County Tuesday.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 600th Avenue and 240th Street, northeast of Austin.  The Mower County Sheriff’s Office reported that the westbound pickup was pulling a trailer just before noon on Tuesday when it struck a southbound dump truck. There were no stop signs at the intersection.

Authorities at the scene reported  that both male drivers were taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A citation could be issued to the pickup driver.
