Two people were injured after a motorcycle accident in rural Mower County Wednesday evening.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office reported that 49-year old Timothy Stafford of Adams, and his 17-year-old son, William, were involved in the crash in the area of County Rd. 7 just north of Adams. Chief Deputy Sheriff Mark May stated in a news release that the lanes of the road were uneven and when Stafford struck the lip of the uneven pavement, he lost control of his motorcycle.
Authorities indicated that the older Stafford was not wearing a helmet while the 17-year-old was. The two riders each sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin.
Authorities stated that there are signs posted in the area for uneven pavement.
