Two additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 11,809
Mower County logged 11,303 confirmed and 506 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 11,809 since the onset of the pandemic up two from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health. Health officials added that the total number of positive cases, including reinfections in the state for the duration of the pandemic now stands at 1,427,270, and over 1,411,400 people in Minnesota have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.
Olmsted County recorded 40,602 cumulative cases Friday, a rise of 39 from Thursday, Steele County reported 10,292 cumulative cases Friday, up six from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 9,042 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up four from Thursday. Dodge County now has 5,647 cumulative cases, up two from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 4,756 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up five from Thursday.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 492 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 1,364,631, and they added that seven additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 12,369 since the onset of the pandemic. A total of 61,413 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 11,370 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
