St. Paul man sentenced to supervised probation on felony firearm possession charge in Mower County District Court

A St. Paul man who was facing a felony firearm possession charge in Mower County District Court stemming from an incident that occurred on March 17th, 2021 that prompted a warrant being issued for his arrest, has been sentenced to supervised probation.

58- year old Johnny Eugene Davis was convicted and sentenced Friday to 10 years of supervised probation for a felony charge of being a violent felon in possession of a firearm.  A 60-month prison sentence was stayed for 10 years if Davis complies with the terms of his probation, and he first pleaded guilty to the charge in August of 2021.

Davis was taken into custody on the charge the following Monday, March 21st after allegedly brandishing a knife at Austin Police at an apartment complex in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue Southeast.
