A South Dakota woman injured after her car struck a deer in Freeborn County Friday evening. 

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that 61-year old Julie Ann Groeger of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was driving east on Interstate 90 just after 8:30 p.m. Friday evening near mile marker 155 when she struck a deer in the road.

The State Patrol reported that Groeger was uninjured but a passenger, 31-year old Jamie Ann Westerndorf of Sioux Falls, SD, suffered a non-life threatening injury and was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for treatment.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and Albert Lea police and fire assisted at the scene of the accident.
