Recently discovered bones in Cedar River in Austin found to be not human

Bones that were discovered in the Cedar River in Austin under a bridge last Wednesday have been found to be not human.

Austin Chief of Police Dave McKichan stated that officers and members of the Austin Fire Department responded to a report of some bones in the Cedar River under the South Main Bridge on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 23rd.

McKichan stated that the bones had been observed in the water by people searching for crayfish. Two bones were retrieved from the river, and Chief McKichan stated that a forensic investigation determined that the bones were not human.
