Ransom’s 33 points helps to lead Austin Packers boys basketball team past Red Wing 75-59 Thursday evening
The Austin Packers boys basketball team went on the road to Red Wing in search of win number two in a row Thursday evening, and in the Big 9 Conference and Section 1AAA clash, it was Peyton Ransom scoring 20 of his game-high 33 points in the second half to help lead the Packers to a 75-59 win over the Wingers.
Sophomore guard Tate Hebrink was also in double figures for the Packers Thursday night with 13 points, Mikah Christopherson swished three 3-pointers in the first half for nine points, Dakota Retterath registered seven points, Banyaan Omot tallied four points, Isaac Osgood chipped in three second-half points, Jackson Clausman scored three points, and sophomore guard J’dan Stevens sank a 3-pointer in the second half to also finish with three points in the win.
With the victory, the Packers are now 3-8 overall on the season and 2-4 in the Big 9 Conference, and Austin returns to action at home Saturday night versus the Northfield Raiders.
