Pairings released for Sections 1 & 3 for Class 9-man football playoffs

The pairings for the Section 1 9-man football tournament have been released, and the Grand Meadow Superlarks, the No. 1 team in the state in the last Class 9-man poll who finished the regular season at 6-0 are the top seed, and they will take on either No. 4 seed Spring Grove or fifth-seeded Houston, who will meet at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in Spring Grove on Saturday afternoon in Grand Meadow at 1:00 p.m.

In other pairings, the Lanesboro Burros will be the No. 2 seed in Section 1 9-man, and they will meet No. 7 seed Kingsland Tuesday in Lanesboro at 7:00 p.m.  The winner of that game will meet either No. 3 seed LeRoy/Ostrander or No. 6 seed Mabel-Canton, who will play in LeRoy Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.  Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the high seed.

The winners from Saturday will play for the Section 1 9-man title on Friday, November 27th at a site and time yet to be determined.

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics are the No. 4 seedin the Section 3 9-man tournament, and they will host No. 5 seed and defending Class 9-man champion Edgerton Tuesday night in Lyle at 7:00 p.m.  Should the Athletics win, they would play again on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Hills versus No. 1 seed Hills/Beaver Creek.
