Owatonna man sentenced to prison time on drug possession charges in Mower County District Court
An Owatonna man found with a backpack in the trunk of his vehicle containing a plastic bag with 16.3 grams of methamphetamine inside, two marijuana pipes and a tackle box with a methamphetamine pipe containing 1.6 grams of methamphetamine inside after a traffic stop in Austin in October has been sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court.
30-year old Kieth Eugene Anderson was sentenced to 52 months in prison for a felony charge of third-degree drugs, possession of 10 grams or more of a narcotic other than heroin. He received credit for 72 days already served.
Misdemeanor charges for possession of over 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle, and for driving after revocation and a petty misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed as part of a plea agreement reached in the case on December 2nd.
