Mower County logs six additional COVID-19 cases Wednesday for cumulative total of 4,366; vaccination clinic to be held in Austin Thursday

Mower County logged 4,250 confirmed and 116 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 4,366 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of six from Tuesday, that according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Pam Kellogg, Division Manager with Mower County Health and Human Services reported that there are approximately 80 active COVID-19 cases in the county, and she added that a COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held at the Austin Holiday Inn Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Those interested in signing up for the clinic can do so by going to the Mower County Health and Human Services website at www.mowercountyhhs.com.  

Olmsted County recorded 12,243 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, a rise of 27 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 3,345 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 23 from Tuesday, Freeborn County now has 3,080 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up 14 from Tuesday, Dodge County logged 1,621 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of nine from Tuesday and Fillmore County now has 1,482 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up three from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,660 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 519,529 positive COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, and they added that Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by 12 Wednesday to 6,848 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 27,308 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the pandemic started, and 5,623 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
