Minnesota DEED Commissioner cites Hormel Foods Lunch Program during daily COVID-19 press briefing

During Governor Tim Walz’s Tuesday press conference concerning the latest in the state’s response to the COVID-19 virus, Steve Grove, the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development closed out his remarks with a feel-good story in the battle against the virus involving the employees of the Spam Museum, Hormel Foods and restaurants in the City of Austin…

Initially, Hormel began the lunch program to support its hundreds of corporate office team members while keeping foodservice operators working. Now that a majority of their office staff is working remotely, Hormel is continuing the lunch program by donating most of the meals to area hunger-relief organizations and local first responders.
