Minneapolis man injured in one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 218 in Mower County Saturday morning

A Minneapolis man was injured in a one-vehicle, rollover-type accident on U.S. Highway 218 in Mower County Saturday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2003 Ford Explorer being driven by 31-year old Devonta Leray Williams of Minneapolis was traveling northbound on Highway 218 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow and ice-covered road and rolled into the ditch north of Highway 251 in Udolpho Township.

Williams, who according to the State Patrol was unbelted at the time of the accident sustained non-life threatening injuries, and he was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin for treatment.  The Mower County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service both assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Saturday morning.
