MDH reports 44th COVID-19 related death in Mower County Wednesday, 12 additional cases for cumulative total of 6,544

The Minnesota Department of Health reported Wednesday that Mower County has recorded a COVID-19 related death for the second day in a row, its 44th overall in an individual 70-74 years of age, and they added that the county recorded 6,544 confirmed and 219 probable COVID-19 cases for a cumulative total of 6,763 since the onset of the pandemic, up 12 from Tuesday.

Olmsted County reported 19,151 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of 78 from Tuesday, Steele County recorded 6,107 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 21 from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 5,074 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up 11 from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 2,877 cumulative cases, a rise of 14 from Tuesday and Fillmore County reported 2,634 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up 17 from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,956 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 807,956, and they added that 43 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 8,761 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 41,739 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota  have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 8,436 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
