Lyle/Pacelli, Blooming Prairie boys and girls track teams take part in Tiger Invitational at Medford Tuesday

The boys and girls track teams from both Lyle/Pacelli and Blooming Prairie took part in the 5-team Tiger Invitational hosted by Medford Tuesday, and in the girls competition, it was Waterville-Elysian-Morristown taking first place with 145 team points, followed by Medford back in second with 105 points.  Then came Blooming Prairie with 65 points, Lyle/Pacelli took fourth with 43 points and the Minnesota Academy for the Deaf was fifth with eight points.

In the boys’ competition, it was Blooming Prairie taking first place with 119.5 points, followed by the host Tigers in second with 106 points, WEM was third with 70.5 points, Lyle/Pacelli was fourth with 41 points and the Minnesota Academy for the Deaf was fifth with eight points.

High finishers for the Awesome Blossoms and Athletics in the girls competition included Lyle/Pacelli’s 4 x 800 meter relay team of Kendahl Lewis, Lexi Lewis, Liz Frederick and Kirsten Koopal, who took first with a time of 12:08.63, and the Blooming Prairie team of Abby Smith, Isabelle Sunde, Asha Lightizer and Chloe McCarthy took second with a final time of 12:57.55.  Clare Rennie from Blooming Prairie took first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.54, and Caitlin Drews was third for LP with a time of 21.88 seconds.  Kate Rauen was third for Lyle/Pacelli in the 100 meter dash with a final time of 15.45, and Abigail Thoreson was fourth for BP with a time of 15.54, while the Blossoms’ 4 x 200 relay team of Isabel Dickel, Madi Lea, Elizabeth Miner and Annaka Forsberg were second with a time of 2:09.80, and the Athletics’ team of Kate Rauen, Daniela Camarena-Gonzalez, Zuri Leonardo-Sandivol and Kailyn Bissen was fourth with a final time of 2:15.65.

Kirsten Koopal and Lexi Lewis went 1-2 for Lyle/Pacelli in the 1600 meter run with times of 6:17.09 and 6:38.54, respectivley, and BP’s Abby Smith was third with a time of 7:00.47 seconds, Blooming Prairie’s 4 x 100 meter relay team of Clare Rennie, Maddie Lea, Madison Thurnau and Annika Forsberg were third Tuesday with a time of 1:01.01, Chole McCarthy was second for the Blossoms in the 400 meter dash with a final time of 1:10.52 and Rennie took first for BP in the 300 hurdles with a time of 58.39 seconds.  Liz Fredrick took third for Lyle/Pacelli in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:15.60 and Lyle/Pacelli’s 4 x 400 meter relay team of Kendahl Lewis, Lexi Lewis, Liz Frederick and Kirsten Koopal took home third with a time of 5:12.39.

In the field events, Annaka Forsberg took first for Blooming Prairie in the high jump by clearing 5 feet, Clare Rennie was second in the pole vault with an effort of 7 feet and Sophie Thomas of the Blossoms was third in the long jump with a jump of 13′ 5″.

High finishers in the boys’ competition for Lyle/Pacelli and Blooming Prairie included the Blossoms’ 4 x 800 meter relay team of Hosea Baker, Breckin Cochlin, Stephen Fennel and Ty Forstek, who took second with a time of 10:04.96 and Lyle/Pacelli’s team of Javier Rodriguez-Cifuentes, Andrew Frederick, Grayson Bickler and Larry Ketchum, who took third with a time of 10:12.12.  Xavier Rennie was first for BP in the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.73, and teammate Cooper Cooke was third with a final time of 22.62 seconds, and Bradley Simon was third for the Blossoms in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.40.  Blooming Prairie’s 4 x 200 meter relay team of Derek Kubicek, Sam Smith, James Wohlferd and Drew Kittleson took first with a final time of 1:42.31, and BP’s 4 x 100 meter relay team of Xavier Rennie, Kubicek, Brady Kittleson and Bradley Simon were also first with a time of 47.64, almost five second better than second-place WEM.

Luke Weaver and Buay Koak were second and third, respectivley for Lyle/Pacelli in the 400 meter dash with times of 56.63 and 56.91 seconds, Cooper Cooke was second for Blooming Prairie in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 52.87 and Sar Gler was second for LP in the 200 meter dash with a final time of 25.35 seconds, while Bradley Simon was third for the Blossoms with a time of 25.42.  Blooming Prairie’s 4 x 400 relay team of Xavier Rennie, James Wohlferd, Sam Smith and Drew Kittleson were first with a final mark of 3:59.49, and the Athletics’s team of Winston Walkup, Buay Koak, Andrew Frederick and Luke Weaver were second with a time of 3:59.86.

Blooming Prairie swept the top three spots in the high jump with Drew Kittleson clearing 5′ 8″ for first, and Brady Kittleson and Cooper Cooke in second and third, and Brady Kittleson cleared 8′ 6″ for third place in the pole vault.  Buay Koak was second in the long jump for Lyle/Pacelli with an effort of 18′ .5″, while James Wohlferd was third for BP with a jump of 17′ 4″, and Xavier Rennie and Jacob Pauly went 1-2 in the triple jump for the Blossoms with jumps of 37′ 10.5″ and 35′ 2.5″, respectivley.  Blooming Prairie’s Owen Krueger was second in the discus with a throw of 109′ 10″, and he was also second in the shot put with an effort of 42′ 8.5″, and teammate Drew Kittleson was third as he put the shot 36′ 10″.
