Late winter storm impacts southeastern Minnesota

A late winter storm has dumped a load of heavy, wet snow on southeast Minnesota and parts of south-central.  Nick Carletta with the National Weather Service:

Austin received 7 inches of new snow, while Lyle and  Albert Lea both reported 8 inches, Spring Valley received 8 ½ inches, 5 inches of snow fell in Owatonna and Rochester reported 7.9 inches.  MN-DOT reported that the going was slow yesterday in large sections of south-central and southeast Minnesota, including I-35 between Owatonna and the Iowa border. Colder temperatures are expected short-term across Minnesota before a warm up at the end of the week.
