Iowa woman injured in two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 63 in Racine Tuesday morning

An Iowa woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 63 in eastern Mower County Tuesday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup being driven by 66-year old Lawrence Roger Conrad of Dundas was eastbound on Highway 63/Main Street East in the town of Racine at approximately 10:38 a.m. Tuesday morning when his vehicle collided at the intersection with Highway 63 with a 2021 Dodge Durango being driven by 36-year old Tammy Maxine Hovey of Riceville, Iowa, who was northbound on the highway at the time of the collision.

Hovey sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident, and she was transported to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment, while Conrad was uninjured.  The State Patrol indicated that both parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the Mower County Sheriff’s Office, the Stewartville Fire Department, plus Grand Meadow Fire and Ambulance all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Tuesday morning.
