Grand Meadow man pleads not guilty to 12 felony charges for possessing pornographic work involving minors in Mower County District Court

A Grand Meadow man already facing six charges in Mower County District Court ranging from drug possession to being a user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm and firearm ammunition after a search of his residence in Grand Meadow in late December of 2022 is now pleading not guilty to 12 additional felony charges for possessing pornographic work involving minors.

45-year old Nicholas Adam Sneed has been charged with 12 felony counts of possession of pornographic work of a minor under the age of 14 after he was accused of being found in possession of SD cards, two laptop computers, an I Pad and six cell phones that contained several pieces of child sexual abuse material after a search of his residence on December 27th, 2022.  Sneed has also been charged with three felony counts of 5th degree drug possession, also with two gross misdemeanors for being a user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm, plus an additional gross misdemeanor for being a user of a controlled substance in possession of firearm ammunition after Mower County Sheriff’s Deputies stated that they discovered drugs, drug paraphernalia, a 22 caliber rifle, a .45 caliber pistol and multiple rounds of ammunition and firearm magazines throughout the residence during the same search on December 27th, 2022.  

During a hearing Monday, Sneed pleaded not guilty to the 12 felony counts of possession of pornographic work of a minor under the age of 14, plus he also pleaded not guilty on February 6th of this year to the three felony drug possession charges and to the three gross misdemeanor charges of being a user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm and firearm ammunition, and two felony charges of being a user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm, and a felony charge for being the user of a controlled substance in possession of firearm ammunition against Sneed in the case were dismissed on January 31st.  Sneed also pleaded not guilty on February 6th  to three gross misdemeanor charges of interfere with privacy, install or use a surreptitious device after authorities allegedly found hidden cameras in the bathroom of his residence during the December 27th, 2022 search.  

A pretrial hearing for Sneed for all of the charges in Mower County District Court has now been rescheduled for February 16th, 2024, and a trial has been scheduled for February 26th.
