City of Rose Creek’s water deemed safe to consume

Officials with the city of Rose Creek announced Wednesday that the city experienced a loss of water pressure due to a water main break, and because of the loss of pressure, they stated that contamination could have entered the city’s drinking water distribution system, and there is an increased chance that the drinking water may contain bacteria that could make residents sick.

Repair crews were able to locate and repair the break Wednesday, and after the city’s distribution system was flushed and bacteriological samples were collected, the city’s drinking water has been determined to be safe to consume.  A boil water advisory had been in effect for citizens of the town since Wednesday morning.
