Blooming Prairie softball downs United South Central 7-1 Monday

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team played host to United South Central in a Gopher Conference tilt Monday, and pitcher Allison Krohnberg pitched a complete-game four hitter, and Bobbie Bruns was 2 for 4 with a home runs, two RBI’s two runs scored and a stolen base as the Blossoms kept the Rebels winless on the season with a 7-1 win.

Besides Bruns’ big afternoon, Alivia Schneider belted out two of the Blossoms’ nine hits for the game in three official trips to the plate with a run scored and a stolen base, Allison Krohnberg helped her own cause by going 1 for 2 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base, Rachel Winzenburg was 1 for 4 with a pair of RBI’s, Maren Forystek was also 1 for 4 with two RBI’s and a run scored, Macy Lembke was 1 for 4 with a run scored and a stolen base and Laruen Schammel added a hit in three trips to the plate.

Krohnberg was strong in the circle for the Blossoms as she gave up the one Rebel run on four hits in seven innings of work, striking out eight, walking one and hitting one batter.  Blooming Prairie led 3-1 heading into the bottom of the 4th when they tallied four runs to open up a comfortable lead.

The win for Blooming Prairie was the club’s fourth in their last six games, and the Blossoms are back in action at Waterville-Elyisan-Morristown Thursday afternoon, with first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
