Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms volleyball team falls to Tri-City United 3-2 Tuesday evening

After opening their season with a 3-1 win over Rochester Lourdes in Rochester on August 24th, the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms volleyball team was back on the road Tuesday evening versus Tri-City United, and it was the host Titans pulling out a five-set win by scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 23-25 and 15-12.

The match saw setter Macy Lembke put up 26 set assists to go over 1,000 for her career, as she needed 14 assists going into the match to reach 1,000.  Lembke also tallied 13 digs, one kill and three ace blocks, while Ella Smith led the Blossoms in kills with nine, plus she added four digs, one ace block and one ace serve.  Addison Doocy tallied seven kills, plus she led the club in blocks with six, and she added an ace serve, while Annaka Forsberg chipped in two kills, five digs and three blocks.  Layla Lembke tallied one kill, one set assist and piled up 23 digs defensively, Madelyn Harven added two ace serves and 15 digs, Claire Schwarz chipped in one kill, two set assists and 19 digs, Elizabeth Miner put up a stat line of two kills, three digs and one ace block, and Sam Hefling contributed nine digs defensively in the match.

With the loss, the Blossoms are now 1-1 on the young season, and they will play their home opener Thursday night versus Goodhue, with the varsity match scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
