Authorities responded to a two-vehicle accident with a fatality on Interstate 90 in Freeborn County Thursday evening.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup being driven by a 54-year old male from Buffalo Center, Iowa, and a 2001 Freightliner semi being driven by a 60-year old female from Enid, Oklahoma were both traveling westbound on Interstate 90 at approximately 8:11 p.m. Thursday evening when the vehicles collided on the snow and ice-covered road at mile marker 154 in Manchester Township. The State Patrol indicated that the Chevy Silverado came to rest in the center median, while the Freightliner semi rolled onto the driver’s side, and came to a rest on the median shoulder and westbound lane.
The State Patrol reported that there was a fatality involved with the accident, but the names of the victims involved will not be released until Friday evening pending notification of family.
