Austin School Board moves to terminate former Organizational Development and Administrative Services Executive Director John Alberts at special meeting Wednesday evening
After reviewing the results of an investigation conducted by an independent third-party law firm, the Austin School Board moved unanimously at a special meeting Wednesday evening to terminate former Organizational Development and Administrative Services Executive Director John Alberts effective May 31st.
In a written statement, Board Chairperson Kathy Green stated, “the school board has a zero-tolerance policy against sexual harassment. The school board is firmly committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for our staff.”
Austin Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Joey Page said in a written statement that the district is taking proactive steps to prevent harassment in the workplace. Dr. Page stated that the district has engaged the services of a consultant with extensive expertise in workplace harassment prevention, and he added that the consultant will provide a comprehensive training program with a focus on fostering a culture of respect.
